Yevgeny Bertels' contribution to the study of Alisher Navoi's work

The article deals with the problem of studying the work of the outstanding poet and statesman Alisher Navoi. Alisher Navoi is a great Turkic poet of the XV century. He wrote his main works in the literary Chagatai language, on the development of which he had a great influence. The Soviet Orientalist Yevgeny Eduardovich Bertels was one of the leading researchers of Navoi's art. E.E.Bertels was a prominent Soviet Orientalist. His scientific activity is connected with the study of the life and work of many Persian and Turkic poets. He was engaged in Navoi's creative work for 40 years. He wrote a large monograph and many articles on Navoi. One of the first European scientists declared that this prominent Turkic poet's work was completely original and not imitative. After his death, all of his works were published.
