Abstract

The development of novel in prose of the Turkish people that is considered a main genre of modern world literature dates back to the XX century. Depending on historical circumstances, emergence of the novel by separate Turkic nations and development process happened in a different way. The genre of novel in the literature of Uyghurs distinguished by their ancient and rich culture started to develop in 1970-1980s. Novels written by a prominent Uyghur thinker, writer and poet Abdurrahim Oturk are of the nature of Uyghur life’s chronicle in the XX century. His novel “Trace” is one of the best works dedicated to the history of national struggle by Uyghurs. In the article the reflection issues of historical events happened in Eastern Turkistan in 1911-1913s in the novel “Trace” by Abdurrahim Otkur has been involved in the study.
