Abstract

The great Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi is one of the master artists who is at the top of the art of poetry in terms of the effect of his works and creating a literary school. Many poets who followed him continued the literary traditions of Nizami. It is possible to observe that almost all of Dehlavi's works mention Nizami's name and glorify his art. "Shirin and Khosrov" is one of the works written by Amir Khusrau Dehlavi as a nazira to the masnavis in Nizami's "Khamsa". It should be noted that although the work was written under the influence of Nizami's poetry, it is possible to see fundamental differences in some subjects. The character of Shirin in Dehlavi's work appears as a lover who loves Ferhat with all his heart and inspires him enough to pierce Bisutun. However, the character of Shirin, written by Nizami, was not in love with Ferhat, he only respected her as a hardworking, labor-loving artist. It is possible to see some differences in Ferhat characters in the lines we have examined. Namely, the character of Ferhat, created by Amir Khusrau, seems to have a pessimistic and resentful image. Nizami's Ferhat, on the other hand, is a more optimistic, forward-looking and hopeful hero for the future. Dehlavi is undoubtedly a valuable representative of the Nizami literary school.
