Abstract

In the presented article, the image of Shams in the biographical novel "Tears of Love – Shams Tabrizli" by the Turkish writer Sinan Yagmur, about Shams Tabrizli, a representative of philosophical thought originally from Tabriz, Azerbaijan, and his compatibility with historical reality was examined. Shams strongly influenced everyone, both his contemporaries and those who came after him. Information about him was given in medieval sources and tazkiras, which led to the creation of many narratives and legends. Sinan Yagmur, who has extensive research experience on Sufism, although his first books were scientific sources of a research nature, later he wrote the novelized form of these works and presented them to the world. The novel "Shams Tabrizli" from the "Tears of Love" book series, which the author combines into five series and includes five representatives of Sufism, is extensively studied in this article for the first time. Here, the author's approach to Shams is clarified.
