Abstract

Poet, writer, composer and public figure Abay Kunanbayev promoted Russian and European culture based on enlightened liberal Islam. His creativity reflects the socio-political processes of his nation.
Talking about the work of Kazakh educator Abay Kunanbayev, it is controversial that the name of his work, which was called “The Book of Words” (“Black words”), is our language. Despite the fact that the work written by the writer at the end of his life is called “Black Words” in Kazakh, we find that in the Azerbaijani literature it is called under different names. It should be noted that the “Book of Words” (“Black Word”) is known under such names as “Kara soz” (“Black word”), “Agliyya”, “Gakliya”, “Great word”, “Words of Edification” and so on. The structure of the work draws particular attention. The 45-piece work is reminiscent of the hypertextual artifacts we find in modern literature. So, regardless of which part of the “Book of Words” you read, the artistic meaning and content do not lose their value.
